Next meeting

We are delighted to announce the inaugural meeting of our Lyon-Grenoble RNA club!

Date: Wednesday, 18 November 2026
Time: 10 AM – 2 PM
Location: ENS Lyon (site Monod) – Salle des Theses

The goal of the inaugural Ribo-INK meeting is to help researchers across the Lyon-Grenoble region get to know one another and identify opportunities for future collaboration. To maximize scientific exchange and community building, we have chosen a format that highlights a broad range of research topics and technical approaches. We particularly encourage early-career researchers to take advantage of this occasion to present their work and engage with the broader RNA community.

Program:
– Keynote lecture by Phillip D. Zamore
– Two short talks from participants
– Ten flash talks from participants
– Lunch and informal discussions

Participation is free of charge, but registration is mandatory for organizational purposes (below).

Keynote Lecture

We are honored to welcome Phillip D. Zamore (RNA Therapeutics Institute, Worcester, MA, USA) as the keynote speaker for the inaugural meeting.

Dr. Zamore is an internationally recognized leader in the field of regulatory small non-coding RNAs. His pioneering work has been instrumental in elucidating the biogenesis and function of microRNAs (miRNAs), small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), and PIWI-interacting RNAs (piRNAs). These discoveries have transformed our understanding of how cells regulate gene expression, defend themselves against transposons and viruses, and maintain genome integrity across generations.

Dr. Zamore has also played a leading role in translating small RNA research into therapeutic applications. As a co-founder of Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, he helped lay the foundations for siRNA-based medicines. This work contributed to the development of ONPATTRO (patisiran), the first FDA-approved siRNA therapeutic, marking a major milestone in the translation of small RNA biology into clinical medicine. Dr. Zamore is also an inventor on more than 100 patents and patent applications.

Dr. Zamore’s research is rigorous and quantitative, and he is passionately committed to transmitting these high standards to his trainees. He gives his trainees the skills to do great work anywhere they go. He reared more than three dozen successful scientists who established independent academic groups or pursue leadership positions in biotechnology and industry. His exceptional dedication to mentorship was recognized with the RNA Society Distinguished Research Mentor Award in 2024.

His keynote lecture will provide a unique opportunity to hear from a scientist whose work has shaped the small RNA field from its earliest days and continues to influence both fundamental biology and the development of RNA-based therapeutics.
