Welcome to the first edition of our Researcher Spotlight series! To launch it, we introduce the network itself: what Ribo-INK is, why it was created, and how you can get involved.
Why Ribo-INK?
RNA research is growing fast and becoming increasingly interdisciplinary, yet scientists working on related topics often remain in separate circles. Ribo-INK was born from a simple need: a dedicated space where RNA researchers from different disciplines can meet regularly, test new ideas, share expertise and build lasting collaborations.
Our scope and ambition
Lyon and Grenoble host more than 30 research groups covering every aspect of RNA biology, from fundamental molecular mechanisms to biomedical applications. Ribo-INK connects these two cities into a regional network that keeps the community together beyond occasional conferences. In the long term, we aim to integrate this regional core into national and international RNA networks.
Who can join?
Everyone interested in RNA:
- PhD students and postdocs
- Engineers and technicians
- Principal investigators
- Industry and non-academic professionals
We place a strong emphasis on early-career researchers: PhD students and postdocs make up a significant part of our organising committee and actively shape the direction of the network.
What to expect
- RNA Salons: three half-day events per year, alternating between Lyon and Grenoble.
- Regular exchanges between events: our Journal Club, digital channels and this Researcher Spotlight series.
Build Ribo-INK with us
Ribo-INK is a collective initiative, and we would love to hear from you. Do you have:
- ideas for future keynote speakers?
- an RNA paper to feature in our Journql Club?
- a colleague to highlight in a future Researcher Spotlight?
